Amazing Grace by Gary Borse |
READ: Psalm 24
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory.
- Psalm 24:10
The fact is, if we are willing to admit it, that we often take God's grace for granted. So, lets walk through exactly what it is that makes grace so amazing:
According to (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
- We are unrighteous (violating what God says is right) but for grace
- We are fornicators (involved with porno) but for grace
- We are idolaters (worship anything "money" other than God) but for grace
- We are adulterers (married people messing around with married people) but for grace
- We are effeminate (soft, a catamite) but for grace
- We are homosexuals but for grace
- We are covetous, drunkards, revilers, and swindlers but for grace
WOW! God sees us as who we are not who we were.
Now that is amazing! That is grace in action.
Standing in that grace we are motivated to worship. Therefore, when we see scripture like (Ps. 24:3) where the psalmist asks poetically, "Who can worship God?"
Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
We answer with him in verse 4 :
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.
We are clean because of grace; and, God gives grace to us; so, we give glory to God.
THIS IS AMAZING GRACE by Phil Wickham
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Who's love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory the King above all kings
This is amazing grace, this is unfailing love
That you would take my place
That you would bear my cross
You laid down Your life, that I would be set free
Jesus I sing for
All that You've done for me
So glad that God see's me as who I am and not what I once was. Same could be said for a whole host of people.
